Today marks that pinnacle calendar date. The date that you can almost guarantee you won’t have a baby.
So, after today, I’m officially overdue. Though really it’s all a bit daft considering only around 5% of babies are actually born on due date! It’s almost a date that exists to annoy us when we do move in to the overdue phase!
When I originally started Life of Mum, I was pregnant with Ella. So, it very much started off as a pregnancy blog. This time round has been a lot different. I blog far more than I have ever done, usually around 3-4 times a week. I’m getting more opportunities through my blog. And it has become a real passion as opposed to a some-time hobby.
The readership has increased quite dramatically as well! Page views have increased by over 1000% since two years ago!!
I’m not a blogger who could write a weekly update of my pregnancy. I don’t think there’s been enough variation week-by-week for me to do that. And, I’ll be honest, they are the posts I tend to skip reading on other people’s pregnancy blogs.
Instead, I’ve focused on different aspects of pregnancy. Most being my frustrations!! I’m not the best at being pregnant! And this one has certainly been different, having a toddler at the same time. A toddler who has had chickenpox, a trip to hospital in an ambulance, a string of colds, a sick bug, and hand, foot and mouth disease.
Plus a toddler who has gone through a significant change period during my pregnancy. Ella was 14 months old when I found out I was pregnant, and is now 22 months old! That’s a period of real change in a toddler’s life, where they understand more and more about the world, and challenge it in return. We’ve seen the introduction of tantrums, of speech, of milestones like the move to a bed, and it’s all been brilliant fun. Though being pregnant at the same time has also made it an exhausting 8 months!
So, I hope you’ve enjoyed sharing the journey with me! I hope I haven’t moaned too much. And I hope you’ll stick around and read more about the next chapter. One that I really hope is going to start sooner rather than later!
And, if you’ve loved reading my blogs through this pregnancy, I’d really appreciate your nomination in the pregnancy category of The MAD Blog Awards 2015! You can nominate in every category, or just those you have blogs of interest in. CLICK HERE TO NOMINATE!
