Feeding a Toddler On The Go With #MamiaDaysOut

I swear my kids are bottomless pits!  They can eat and eat and eat, and still demand more!  I feel like I’m forever trying to figure out the best snacks to give them that keep them going for longer, while still being healthy.

We were really pleased to try out the Mamia range from Aldi.  This award winning 100% organic baby food range starts at just 59p, so it’s really affordable and great for on the go too.  And I’ve discovered it definitely isn’t just for babies.  Not only does Sienna (1 year old) love the range, but Ella (3 years old) does too.  In fact, our hamper of goodies was quickly pounced on by Ella, and she had a fruit pot open and eaten before I had put any of the food away!!

Picnic In The Park With smarTrike #SmartDiscoveries

Sienna is at an age where she is absorbing everything.  I’d love to see the world through her innocent eyes, and to take in everything around me with the same wonder!

Over the summer, Ella went to nursery for an extra day to help prepare her for preschool.  They are usually both in childcare at the same time, so it was really lovely to get to spend some one-on-one time with Sienna, which I haven’t really done since she was a baby.  Every Wednesday, over the summer, would be mine and Sienna’s day.  And luckily the weather was usually good enough for us to get out with the dog for a long walk.  Because we didn’t have Ella with us, we didn’t need the option of the buggy board for a 3 year old who has the habit of wanting to hop on when walking gets too much.  So we were chuffed to receive a Explorer 5-in-1 smarTrike for Sienna to see the world from a new perspective, to take in more around her, and to enjoy her dog walk in a new set of wheels.

Kidloland Toddler App

Ella is a bit of an iPad addict.  She’s never really been in to the telly, but is very happy with an iPad in her hand.  I can’t deny, it’s been handy during Sienna’s first year, on times when I’ve needed to focus on her and distract an energetic toddler.

So, it helps when her iPad activity is educational, rather than just distractional!  Ella has been trying out the Kidloland App.  The app comes with lots of different activities, games, stories and nursery rhymes to keep toddlers entertained.  It helps teach phonics, numbers, animals, days and months and puzzle solving.  And Ella loves it!  It’s easy for her to use on her own, without my input, though I’ve also enjoyed helping her out with the different activities.  And I’m sure I will see an improvement in her learning through the use of the app.

Dyson

Engineering The Future With Dyson and Currys PC World

I have a thirst for knowledge.  I love reading about new things, and trying them out too where possible!  And I’d love for the girls to have the same thirst.  Ella is definitely showing signs already, asking constant questions about how things work.  So, I was really pleased myself and Ella were invited along to learn about Dyson products and how they are engineered, with Dyson and Currys PC World at the Museum of Science and Industry.  I knew she’d love it, and I wasn’t wrong!

Date Night at wagamama

We haven’t had many date nights recently.  The girls have both been poorly, and I feel hard of asking anyone to look after them when I can picture them crying for us when we’re out.  Plus, life has been busy!  I was really pleased when we were invited to try out the relatively new wagamama at The Trafford Centre, as it meant we HAD to get out together, just us two.  So, last night, that is what we did!

Wagamama opened in The Trafford Centre in October 2015.  It’s the largest wagamama site in the company, and has a mezzanine floor.  They’ve recently released a new menu, including build your own ramen, so it was great to be able to try it out.  I actually haven’t been in a wagamama since I was a student, ten years ago!  And Sean has never been!!  I think it’s easy to get in to a comfort zone, or to rule something out as ‘not for us’.  But now we’ve broken the wagamama seal, I can confirm it definitely is for us!!!

Natalia Radiance Replenish

Natalia Radiance Replenish Skincare Range – Review

Since I’ve had my girls, I’ve definitely noticed a change in my skin.  It’s without a doubt more dehydrated, and suffers from dry patches.  And it’s duller too (which may be due to the sleep deprivation!!).  So, I was really pleased to try out the Natalia Radiance Replenish skincare range.

The Radiance Replenish range includes Clarifying Facial Cleanser, Enriching Facial Moisturiser, and Refining Facial Exfoliator.  The products were developed from the results of surveys of pregnant women and new mums (me included!!).  They aim to beat the dryness and dehydration that came through as one of the big issues in the survey.  All three products smell amazing!!  Using them daily reminds me of having a facial and that typical spa scent of natural oils and relaxation!  The products are hand blended and are made with 100% natural ingredients, so are completely kind to the skin.  These products are designed to be used during pregnancy and beyond.

DLX 5

Trespass Bravo DLX Waterproof Jacket – Review

One thing you can’t be when you have a dog, is a fair weather walker!!  Come rain or shine, Ned wants to get out.  So, a good waterproof jacket is a must.

The Bravo Women’s DLX Waterproof jacket from Trespass is perfect for a soggy dog walk, and a not so soggy one too!  Much as I’m looking forward to the days of walking Ned with a t-shirt on and no coat, we seem a long way from it yet.  Since receiving the DLX jacket, it’s seen me through every dog walk!  One of the things that makes it perfect for me, is the number of pockets.  I need space for poo bags, house keys, my phone (to take snaps for Snapchat along the way!), Ned’s ball for when we get to the park, tissues to wipe little girls’ noses, and sometimes my good camera too if I want to take a few shots for the blog!  The Bravo DLX offers plenty of room for all this, with two water repellent zip pockets, and two inner pockets.

Gro Clock Review

The Gro Clock – Review

If you need your littlies to sleep better, then it’s time to make friends with The Gro Company!  Many of their products are related to helping little ones get a better night’s sleep (and subsequently, us sleep deprived parents too!).  I’m forever talking about how little sleep I get, because it pretty much dominates my life!  And so, any product that promises a little more sleep is something I’m more than happy to give a go!

The Gro Clock is one such item.  The clock works by having stars on the clock when it’s night time and the sun during day time.  You can preset the sun to come on at whatever time you choose.  And, as you put your little one to bed, you set it so the stars come on at that time.  It’s a simple concept for them to understand – the stars mean it’s time to sleep, the sun means it’s time to get up.

Kinetik Non-Contact Thermometer

Kinetik Non-Contact Thermometer – Review

One piece of kit that I have used LOTS since the day Ella was born, is a thermometer.  I remember when I was a little girl, my mum had this strip that you’d hold on the forehead and it would say if you had a fever or not!  Wow, have thermometers come a long way since then!

We have a pretty good thermometer.  It’s the same one that the doctors use at our local surgery, so I feel pretty confident in its ability.  The only downside is the need to stick it in an ear.  Not so easy to do when your child is asleep, or they are feeling too poorly to have something shoved in their ear.  Ella’s never really minded having it put in her ear, but I’ve discovered that Sienna isn’t so keen!  She will fight against you, meaning taking her temperature can be pretty difficult.

Cosatto Hug Car Seat

Cosatto Hug Isofix Car Seat – Review

If there’s one brand I completely adore when it comes to baby and kid gear, it’s Cosatto!  For a start, they’re British, and it’s always lovely to support British brands.  Secondly, they are brilliant for customer service.  But mainly for me, it’s all about the design!  I absolutely LOVE the vibrancy that is synonymous with all their products.

The Hug Isofix Car Seat is no different!  It comes in a number of different designs.  We went for the Pixelate design, which is so so colourfu!  I love the look of it in the car.  It just brightens up the interior instantly.  Here it is in all it’s technicolour glory, before we took extra padding out to make it the right size for Ella.
